About Us
The Technical Assistance Center in Region 8 was founded in 2022. As a regional technical assistance center, we are proud members of CA PBIS. CA PBIS partners with local districts to support their PBIS implementation efforts. As state leaders, we make a concerted effort to ensure our practices align with the National Center on PBIS. Ensuring our system aligns with our practices is important to us, and we strive to support our partners in doing the same.
Our technical assistance center aims to build capacity with our partners by providing coaching, resources, and all things support! We know that in order for educators to support students, we have to support them first. Educators are asked to encourage students to display contextually appropriate behavior schoolwide and in the classroom. As the demand for educators increases, so must the level of support. Our technical assistance center is happy to partner with your staff to help them identify and overcome adaptive or technical barriers to adopting a practice, and replace those barriers with evidence-based practices.
Region 8 Technical Assistance
The Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) serves as the Region 8 Technical Assistance Center for California PBIS, supporting schools across Kern, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties. Our mission is to ensure schools implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) have access to the technical assistance, workshops, coaching, and ongoing communication needed to sustain high-quality implementation. Through this support, we aim to strengthen adult knowledge and practice, leading to improved student outcomes.
